I still feel we should hold off on large public relations until we have something substantial to relate. There's been talk of posting news about "what's going to be in the game", but that's irresponsible, as we really can't say what will wind up in the game yet. That's the beauty of Open Source Software: it's limitless. For example, someone wanted to provide a list of "features" that will be in the game on the home page, but our plan for releases will give the wrong impression about the game with such a listing present. If people download the first release, and it doesn't have any of the features in that homepage list, then people will have the wrong impression about the project. Later, upon a newer release that might have that one über feature they were excited about, they might not even bother to check: "Oh, that. Yeah, it sucked, I remember the first release."
For an overview of the project, a roadmap if you will, take a look at the
Game Treatment found on our Wiki. Even this is a very bare roadmap, and is definitely not something intended to be perceived as what the first release will include, rather it's a broad objective.
A lot of the information found therein was influenced by the
Best of Tactical article, found on dslyecxi.com. Much was quoted outright, and footnotes are stll necessary. Likewise, much information is
lacking from the G.T., as it was intended to get us talking about what we do and don't want in the game, as well as some things that are inherently subsections of features mentioned. Alas, the former didn't quite come to fruition yet. Most of us are quite busy with real life, and this is, after all, a hobby project.
If you really want that instant gratification feel for info about the game, idle in our IRC channel, #code43, on freenode.net
